Mmm homemade venison soup and maple bacon biscuits. BRB, died and gone to cozy comfort food heaven.

Spaghetti is a default meal here. It used to be an all day affair, huuuge pot full of meat sauce, hot sausage and meatballs. Portioned out in ziploc containers for the freezer. And I still remember how to do it that way, but these days I scale that down and do sauce+macaroni (which for some strange regional reason is known as goulash)

But long ago we discovered the one pot wonder sort of spaghetti (Martha Stewart? Maybe) and it’s just as easy as defrosting the frozen container, and we eat less beef.

There’s venison meatballs in there though.

And the pantry is pretty full now, so I might make some cake or something.

Do you have a good recipe for your venison meatballs?

I mostly just wing it? I don’t generally have exact measurements. Devlin rather likes the Tuscan Sunset seasoning mix from Penzeys, and that has garlic in it, but I added some roasted garlic and onion. I boil white onions and then puree them and pour it into ice cube trays for future onion flavour.

Salt and pepper and a splish of red wine. An egg. Some toasted bread run through the food processor.

er. Not really helpful, am I?

Oh! i almost forgot, I mix is some fresh/loose sausage too, it adds some fat to he otherwise extremely lean venison. I had about 4-ish pounds of venison and added about a pound or so of sausage.

That's helpful! Gives me a good jumping off point, many thanks.

Chicken marinated in grapefruit juice/ginger/shallot/kecap manis (which is according to the bottle made from Quality Soy Beans!) with brown rice and green beans.
