Nothing wrong with being eco-friendly, but-

- weekly comic book store run
- I buy 5 comics and a Snickers because they're satisfying
- given free promo postcards
- given free promo comic
- given free ONE INCH THICK upcoming comics and toys catalog
- idiot behind the register tries not to bag any of it because of 'the environment'

Omaha, folks.

What, you don’t have your own handsewn recycled potato chip bag? Or a crocheted market bag made from plastic bags that you washed in the creek and spun into plarn?

ETA: I finished the Sand Sea, was juuuuuust getting interesting again after all the trvelogue-to-the-battle/battle chapters. And I was right, it ended on a cliffhanger. feh.

I have some samples lined up that seem interesting.

There is commonsense environmental awareness and then there's varnishing the picket fence while the barn's burning. There will come a time when most comic sales will be digital, which means I won't be buying them from a comic book store, which means less comics will be printed, which means tons of paper and ink won't be used or distributed saving even more on oil gas and rubber, which means the Earth will be saved while comic stores will go out of business, which means delay your friggin fate and put the friggin comics in the friggin bag and stop pissing me off.

Not you, Miss Maeve, you can't piss me off

I have these lovely probably polyester roll up bags that I used mostly at the grocery store. Until the plague. Maybe we can use them again? I have tons of plastic bags in my closet. I think they multiply in there...

Still making my way through the Psy-Changeling series, in addition to an embarrassing amount of non-fiction titles.

This week's comic book run:
Immortal Hulk #45 -- oooooo things are getting good again!!!!
Green Lantern #1 -- John Stewart's on the cover (Bryan Hitch art -- the guy that makes every female X-men mutant look like the same supermodel :P ) so I'm guessing the series will focus on John Stewart
Thunderbolts #2 and #3 -- missed #1; I am now in an existential crisis!
Savage Avengers #18 -- stepped away from this after the first few issues. Deadpool's on the cover so it might be interesting.
Batman: The Chalice -- graphic novel with the plot of Batman acquiring the Grail. THAT Holy Grail.

Only read Hulk so far and I'm geeking out about the turn of events. :D  :D

I'm part way through Karen McBride's Crow Winter and am loving all the things it is.

Whilst downloading various samples, Olivia Atwater’s Half A Soul caught my attention. It’s book 1 in Regency Fairy Tales, and I’m like, well, Bridgerton would’ve been better with less sex and more magic and fae, so... yeah. Zoomed through the sample, wanted more ended up only stopping because it was well after midnight.

I just popped in to check the Board before going back to knitting and book.

That book was indeed delightful, the sample of the second book in that series failed to catch my attention though. Maybe another time.

I moved on to book #2 of Old Man’s War. And then Murderbot #1. Which was fine, I liked it a lot, went to get book 2 and balked at the price. I guess I try a sample and see if I still like it.

Maeve, do any of your libraries have the Murderbot series? I first borrowed the e-books before then investing in the series in hardcover.

Finished the first book in The Expanse series: Leviathan Wakes. So, so good. Murderbot was my gateway drug into scifi and The Expanse writes characters and story so well. I zipped through Leviathan in less than a week.
