Want to talk about some nifty piece of media that isn't Neil-related? This is the place to do it.

This is the only retro keyboard that I find properly Sporkable. Works wired or Blootoof. Tiny minus for the return bar not being able to do the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzDING! typewriter thing, but the black and gold model is you since they don't have one in transparent pink

I was getting sadface that my Twitch streaming sessions were only getting 5 views or less and I've been working so hard on them (NOT; i'm doing my usual comfy half-assed whatever :P) and then I discovered that MOST PEOPLE DON'T WATCH TWITCH VIDEOS AND ITS ALL PAID CLICKBOTS.

Heh. So I might suck at this, but I have the High Moral Ground® *flex flex pose*

Twitching in an hour from now until i don't know when. Spoopy retro graphics game or something.

Ahahahahaha WOW tonight's stream went so bad I deleted it!

- Started Game A - played for an hour then got filtered (got stuck could NOT figure out how to continue playing), so I-

- Started Game B - a horror game with adult themes. I kid you not the game started off with me slashing my wrist and jamming my bloody forearm into a demonic vagina WHERE THEN MY GAMEPAD AND KEYBOARD/MOUSE FAILED AND I WAS STUCK IN THAT POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO (too much like real life lol), so then I-

- Started Game C - and the game's graphics were so glitchy and bad I couldn't even start the game!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

so I quit for the night. Hmph. Gonna sulk and start streaming fun stuff later this week

It's not as much the Furi-failing-and-looking-like-a-dumbass part - - ego wounds scab up and heal - - but the fact that I didn't think it was entertaining... hmf. Funny is me failing and then bitching about it and moving forward. 30+ minutes of a live show hunting for online instructions and troubleshooting? Not so much.

On future streams I think I'll need my laptop ready to do research also pre-play the games for a few minutes to see if they work as advertised. Y'know, actually prep for the show. :P

Prep sounds like it'll help in ensuring things go smoother in the future.

Living in Flyover means it hard to find outlets for your geek hobbies. Because of COVID and personality conflicts, I haven't tabletop D&Ded in over a year. Luckily the smart people at French company Tactical Adventures realized there's people like me out there and did something to fix my problem. They purchased rights from Wizards of the Coast to make a video game using the D&D rule set. The result is Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

This isn't another Forgotten Realms or Planescape or Greyhawk or Equestria setting. Whole new place to explore. And the best part? It actually FEELS like you're playing a session of tabletop D&D! You'll spend time rolling up your characters and prepping them and figuring out who to give the loot to AND YOU'LL BE SHOUTING AT THE SCREEN WHEN YOUR THIEF WITH A 16 DEX ROLLS A FRICKIN 2 AND CAN'T OPEN THE FRICKIN TREASURE CHEST. EVER.

The graphics are.. erm... outdated and there's one character model glitch that has me laughing in spite of it (it's why I call my dwarf Spghettibeard), but the game's FUN. So during this looooooong winter coming up, if you want to D&D (and you hate Skyping), this is the way to do it.

The games dice generator is fair, but when your Ranger/Archer rolls so badly it seemed she decided to forego using the longbow and just throw the arrow at the flying lizard and you're mad about it, that's the spirit of tabletop gaming captured in a bottle. :D
