2020 Whamageddon support thread (I already lost)

Post by Llama's BIG BROTHER »

Have you been WHAMMED yet?

I lost on Sunday morning, when someone left a radio on to the station that goes to a 24/7 Christmas music format in mid-November. For those of you still in the game, be strong, and good luck!

Don't know what I'm talking about? The game is to see how long you can go into the holiday season without hearing WHAM!s Last Christmas. The moment you recognize the song you've lost. Rules can be found at https://whamageddon.com

But covers don’t count, right? It has to be Wham’s original?

I have skated through the last two years, despite the fact that it’s lurking on Pandora. Seems to only play it in July though.

The rules I’ve been following say it has to be the original, yeah. :D

This is one game that I'm actually good at!
I abhor Christmas music, avoid public places during the holiday season (even more so this year,) and this isn't typically a song that is played during the holiday shows I stage manage. I've won this the past three years that I've (consciously) played.

Still in the running so far ...

I don’t know this song, at least by name. Apparently, this bodes well for me.

As far as having another thing to keep track of? Pass.
Yep. *that* fduncan. Board-crasher, right-coaster, fat-thumbed grammar nebish

Late checking in, but I was knocked out on the 5th. Which, according to Facebook memories, is the same day I lost in 2019. Oh well. I love Christmas music too much to really try and avoid exposing myself to it.

Still haven’t heard it. The grocery stored played Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You and I had to bit my tongue to keep from singing along, but no Last Christmas.

I have tempted the googlegods and searched for Whamageddon 2020, and Last Christmas, and my pandora just keeps giving me The Shins and Green Day, despite the fact that there are 48 channels to shuffle through, and it is on shuffle mode.

It gave me Wake Me Up Before You Go Go...

GUYS! It's the 23rd and I'm still in the game! :) I do NOT know how this has happened, other than I'm not out and about shopping at malls and department stores? And as far as my own tastes in Xmas music goes at home, it's mostly jazz.
