Re: What are we watching?

I loved Shang-Chi! It felt a lot like when Iron Man first came out, that building a backstory kind of thing. The choreography for the fight scenes was amazing and intense. Did not care for the whole, “I know you’re an asshole, but I think I can fight/train it out of you” mom part of the story, but, ...

Re: What are we watching?

Cruella is now on regular Disney+, so I downloaded it night before last and it too me a few hours to do that, so I watched it last night. It was not the story I was expecting and it was much better than I expected.

Re: What Are You Reading? Chapter 42

I just finished Lore by, um, someone. Rather engaging. Sort of Greek mythology meets Highlander? Re-read A Deadly Education, waiting for the sequel. Read Ten Thousand Doors of January, that was good. Read #1 in the Wayward Children series and would happily read the rest of that series, but my librar...

Furi is busy trying to lace his sneakers 'the right way' so his imaginary precocious son Scoot will be doing today's review. In fact he will be reviewing two films at the same time. Movies: Black Widow, The Suicide Squad Rating of Scoot: POOP It was another sequel to the capesh-, uh superhuman movi...

Re: The SOC Tent Rival

Did we all know that some movie theatres are going to be playing Labyrinth for the 35th anniversary? (also, three and a half decades, yegads I’m old) Anyway, it’s mid September, so check your theatres! I told Dev about it (one of the theatres is here, one is near his uni) and he’s all, “my classes e...

Re: Remembering How To Shift

I ended up making hand/minipies with strawberry preserves. It was my first time using Smitten Kitchen's pie crust recipe, and definitely hands down a winner. Flaky and the portions would perfect for, you know, actual crusts. Very similar to Bravetart’s pie crust. But slightly different weights. Bra...

Re: What are we watching?

I can’t settle on anything to watch. I’ve read a lot of books lately though.

Only things I’m really watching are The Bad Batch and Wellington Paranormal, and I really don’t like the wait-a-week thing.

Re: Olympics: If I had a do-over--

I watched a ping pong game that was pretty fierce, one guy whacked the ball, ran around the other side of the table while his opponent whacked the ball back, came around the table just in time to hit the ball. Amazing, sure, but I don’t get why it’s an Olympic sport.
